Multicast messaging released

Integrated Wireless is pleased to announce that Multicast messaging is now available for DECT messaging systems.

 

Multicast allows the system to simultaneously send messages to specified groups to optimise emergency responses. Current DECT systems send messages and alarms individually in a sequential order which creates a lag time between handsets receiving a message, a matter of seconds in most cases.

This new function comes from an Ascom DECT add-on known as ESS (Enhanced System Services), which allows the system to utilise Multicast messaging along with Broadcast (where messages are sent to all handsets on the network as opposed to select groups) and numerous other system upgrades.
